In Bank Hapoalim, we use GitOps with ArgoCD, for managing multiple clusters. As the number of our clusters grew, we found ourselves configuring a great number of Applications CRs, that were identical except for their target cluster or environment details. Our Applications were spread in several Git repositories - which made their maintenance even more difficult. So we searched for a way to automate their creation and modification across multiple clusters. Application Set gave us this ability. In this presentation, I will describe the steps we made for migrating to Application Set, the considerations, the implementation and the limitations. I will describe in detail how application set simplified managing our applications as a single unit, while migrating from many repo to mono repo.
